  • Where is the Reno Ukulele Festival located?
    • Nugget Casino Resort1100 Nugget Avenue, Sparks, Nevada 89431
    • The festival is located on the second floor. From the front desk, you can follow the escalators (over your left shoulder) or the elevators (down the hallway to your left, opposite the gift shop).
  • What are the dates for the Reno Ukulele Festival?
    • June 3-6, 2020. Tickets go on sale January, 2020.
  • Are there hotel discounts available to Palm Springs festival attendees?
    • Yes! You can book rooms HERE or by calling 800-445-8667 and using the group code UKE.
  • What is included with a festival pass?
    • There are different pass levels, but all passes provide access to our day concerts, presentations, and premium workshops, which provide you with up-close and personal instruction from our extremely talented instructors. Additionally, our Earlybird Passes include concert access for the passholder, along with other bonuses (see below). Festival lanyards must be worn at all times when in workshop classrooms.   • What is included with an Earlybird pass?
    • Earlybird tickets provide unique extras for each festival, including additional workshops, receptions, bonus jams, concert access and more. Some of these benefits may also be available to guests of the Earlybird passholder. These benefits may change from festival to festival.   • How long are Earlybird passes available?
  • What workshops are available?
    • Our workshops offer something for everyone, from complete beginners to seasoned players, and cover a wide range of styles and techniques. The workshop list will be updated and details will be added regularly as the festival draws closer.
  • How do I choose which workshops to attend?
    • Newbie passholders may attend any Level 1 class. These are designed for the new or nearly new player. All other passes grant admission to any workshop you like, at any level. Passholders who would like to attend a class but are not yet comfortable playing at that level are welcome to attend as an observer. More information about festival passes can be found below.
  • What do the workshop levels mean?
    • We have structured our classes using a scale of Levels 1-4. Please look at these levels to determine which classes would provide the right instructional level for you. If you would like to attend a class but are not yet comfortable playing at that level, you are welcome to attend as an observer. Level details can be found here.
  • Are there any free offerings that don’t require passes?
    • Yes! We encourage you to explore and/or bring friends. There is a public area at each festival, which includes:
      • Public/Open Mic Stage
      • Vendor Marketplace
      • Super Raffle (raffle ticket purchase required, must be present to win)

There are also plenty of local amenities and offerings at both the Reno and Palm Springs locations.

  • Is there a minimum age for the event?
    • The entire festival is an all-ages event. Each attendee must have a pass for paid areas, concert events, and workshops. Children who would like to attend a workshop should be able to fully participate at the specified workshop level. For information about workshop levels, click here.
  • Where and when do I pick up my festival pass?
    • The registration table will be available each day of the festival for pass pickup and information. A Workshop Schedule page will be posted in the weeks before the festival. Refer to this for daily registration times.
  • Can I go to the concert without buying a festival pass?
    • Yes! Concerts are separately ticketed events for all non-Earlybird attendees. Earlybird passholder badges grant admission for the passholder only. Additional concert tickets must be purchased for any guests. Concert tickets are currently on sale here
  • How do I purchase concert tickets?
  • Where and when do I pick up my concert tickets?
    • If you purchased an Earlybird pass, your badge is your concert ticket. If you purchased concert tickets separately, you will need to print out your ticket and bring it with you to the concert.
  • Do I have to bring my printed ticket with me to the festival?
    • Yes, proof of purchase is required for registration and festival pass pickup. Please bring your printed ticket or mobile confirmation equivalent to the registration desk to receive your lanyard/badge. You will also need to bring your ticket or mobile confirmation to the concerts, if you are attending those.
  • Can I bring a music stand to the workshops?
    • You may, however, space can get tight in workshop rooms. We recommend a swivel-top or bendable wire clothes hanger with clips. You can hook it to the seat in front of you and clip music to the bottom, like this:
  • Will there be handouts for the workshops?
    • Some instructors use handouts, but these are not provided at the festival. Handouts are added regularly as they become available from instructors and are available to view and download here. Please print out any handouts you would like offline access to and bring them with you to the festival.
  • What is the cancellation/refund policy? Are passes transferrable?
    • All passes and tickets are refundable, less 20% cancellation fee, through October 17, 2019. No refunds will be given after October 17. Passes ARE transferable. To transfer passes, send an email giving the new attendee name to PlayUkeMail@gmail.com from the email address originally used to purchase the passes.
  • Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration packet doesn’t match the name of the person who attends?
    • To avoid any confusion or delay during registration, names should match. If you need to change names or transfer your pass to another person, send an email giving the new attendee name to PlayUkeMail@gmail.com from the email address originally used to purchase the passes.
  • How can I change or update registration information?
    • Sign into Eventbrite with your email. Some registration changes can be made here. If you need to transfer your pass to another name, send an email giving the new attendee name to PlayUkeMail@gmail.com from the email address originally used to purchase the passes.
  • How can I contact the festival organizer?

FESTIVAL PASS/TICKET OPTIONS

There are several ways to enjoy the Festival:
1) Through July 30: Earlybird All-Access Pass-$229. This pass gives you access to everything on Friday and Saturday, November 1 & 2, plus the additional Earlybird Bonus Day presentation, workshop, and Spooky Ukes Bash on October 31. You may attend any workshops you wish for all three days, plus you get one complimentary ticket to the Saturday night finale concert followed by swing dance! You must purchase additional Concert Finale tickets for any guests, however non-festival-participating guests may accompany you to the October 31 poolside festivities at no extra charge. 2) After July 30: Friday-Saturday All-Access Pass-$229. This pass gives you access to everything on Friday and Saturday, November 1 & 2, less the Earlybird bonuses. You may attend any workshops you wish for both days.
 
3) Friday OR Saturday All-Access Pass-$119. This pass gives you access to everything on Friday OR Saturday. You may attend any workshops you wish for either day. Saturday night finale concert NOT INCLUDED. You must purchase Finale tickets separately. REGISTER NOW - PURCHASE TICKETS HERE.
 
4) Newbie Pass-$89. Are you new to the ukulele? The Newbie Pass allows you to attend three Level 1 classes on Friday OR Saturday. You may attend these classes either or both Friday and Saturday. (You may repeat the classes both days.) The classes cover the basics for right hand, left hand, and proper techniques for singing while playing your uke. A special Adults and Children class will also be offered, you may also attend this class and bring your 12 & under children with ukuleles at no additional cost. Higher level workshops are NOT included. Saturday night finale concert NOT INCLUDED. You must purchase Finale tickets separately. REGISTER NOW - PURCHASE TICKETS HERE.
 
5) Saturday Night Finale only-$19.50. This finale will entail an approximate 60 minute concert featuring all of our performers, followed by an approximate 75 minute combination concert-swing dance. Hit the dance floor or just kick back with a cocktail and enjoy the music. Vintage wear is encouraged! REGISTER NOW - PURCHASE TICKETS HERE.
 
6) Standalone Family INTRO TO UKULELE, Saturday, November 2, 9:30AM. For adults and families with school-age children. READ DETAILS / SIGN-UP HERE.
 
7) Public Free Area. On Friday and Saturday from 9-4, our vendor marketplace is open to the public as well as the poolside stage entertainment. Drop in and see what the ukulele community is all about!
